THE EYE PROTOCOL

Fight surveillance with forbidden gestures.

THE EYE PROTOCOL is a first-person gesture-combat game where your webcam becomes the controller. Cast spells with real hand signs, block incoming attacks, aim with your body, and survive inside a surveillance state that is actively watching you back.

No keyboard.
No controller.
Just your hands, your face, and your reflexes.

Built with Flutter + Flame for the Flame Game Jam 2026.

STORY

YEAR 2089.

Big Brother has already won.

The Ministry owns the streets, the cameras, the data, and the language of control itself. Every movement is tracked. Every face is indexed. Every act of resistance is flagged.

Your webcam is no longer just a camera. In THE EYE PROTOCOL, it is part of the fiction. The surveillance system is watching you in real time.

You are one of the last unbroken minds.

Inside a sealed combat corridor deep in Ministry territory, you weaponize forbidden gestures to fight back against the system that monitors everything.

BIG BROTHER SEES YOUR HANDS.

GAMEPLAY

You stand at the end of a first-person surveillance corridor while hostile enemies advance toward you in waves.

Your webcam tracks your hands and face in real time:

  • Hand gestures cast spells and defensive abilities
  • Head movement shifts the camera view for a physical first-person effect
  • A live surveillance feed shows Big Brother tracking you
  • Excess movement raises the detection meter

Your goal is to survive the full run of chambers and destroy the Ministry’s forces before they overwhelm you.

If enemies reach you, they deal damage. If your health hits zero, you lose. If the surveillance system fully locks onto you, Big Brother detects you and ends the run.

HOW TO PLAY

Your body is the control system.

  • Open Palm is your neutral stance
  • Return to Open Palm between gestures
  • Use deliberate, readable hand shapes
  • Too much frantic movement increases detection

GESTURE CONTROLS

  • Point — Fire Bolt
  • Open Palm — Shield
  • Fist — Force Push
  • V Sign — Overwatch Pulse
  • Pinch — Grab / UI interaction

HEAD TRACKING

Lean left, right, up, or down to shift the camera view.

You are physically inhabiting the surveillance corridor.

SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM

Movement is monitored by the surveillance feed.

  • Detection meter escalates from safe → alert → critical
  • Excessive motion raises suspicion
  • If detection remains maxed too long, the Ministry identifies you

You are strongest when you are controlled, precise, and intentional.
